These classes are designed for everyone from absolute beginners to experienced practioners. They start with a gentle series of breath led movements which help you to settle in to the felt sense of being in your body. They then progress into more dynamic postures, both still and in flow, before winding down with some restful and restorative yoga. All of this is designed to soothe the nervous system and bring balance and ease to body and mind.

Yoga for pelvic health

Common problems relating to the pelvic floor include: leaking when laughing or sneezing, having to go to the bathroom too often, back/hip/pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, abdominal separation, frequent bladder infections, digestive, menstrual or sexual difficulties. Pregnancy and menopause effect the healthy pelvic floor functioning. All bodies have pelvic floors, yet we generally avoid discussions about ‘down there’. Understanding, connecting to and healing your pelvic floor can be life changing.

Yoga for pelvic health guides you through simple yoga postures and breathing practices designed to encourage an appreciation of the pelvis; to awaken and restore balance in the pelvic floor and in its relationship with the rest of your body.

This therapeutic practice takes a holistic approach by looking at the connections between physical alignment, breathing mechanics, and our life stories in how they impact health and the pelvic floor. By using a mindful approach to yoga postures, you can learn to lengthen and soften tight pelvic floor muscles, and to increase tone and energise them from a relaxed state. With self-enquiry, you can be invested and empowered in your own healing journey.

Menopause Yoga (MY)

During peri-menopause and menopause many woman can feel unsettled and isolated by the rollercoaster of symptoms they experience; from hot flushes and night sweats, anxiety and overwhelm, irritability and mood swings, insomnia, fatigue, brain fog and low mood.

Menopause Yoga creates a enjoyable and safe space where women can come together and share their experiences, laugh and embrace the changes while also learning from one another.

You will learn yoga poses, breathing techniques and mindful meditation practices specially designed to help you manage the varied symptoms of menopause. You will be equipped with an array of helpful resources and tips including self care, natural remedies, nutrition, Hormone Replacement Therapy, and pelvic health. Above all, I hope to help you tap in to your own wellspring so that you can carve your own most easeful and flourishing passage through this crucial yet potentially magnificent time in your life.

I have trained with Petra Coveney and am a Menopause Yoga® accredited teacher. Menopause Yoga is an approach that combines western medical knowledge with eastern well being, incorporating fact-based evidence from top UK Menopause specialists.
